The Moon Hare

Long before people saw a face in the moon, many cultures saw the shape of a hare illuminated in silver light.
To them, the hare wasn’t just in the moon,  it belonged to it.

Across Asia, Europe, and the Americas, the hare appears again and again as a lunar companion, a symbol of rebirth, sacrifice, and the quiet rhythms that guide the natural world. The stories shift with each place, but the heart of the myth stays the same: the hare is a creature whose spirit moves with the moon itself.

This lamp is painted in the spirit of that old folklore, the Moon Hare.
Gentle motifs frame the silhouette, creating the feeling of a small window the hare is peering through, as if caught between our world and the next. The shade is hand-dyed in a burnt, rustic orange, allowing the light to glow soft, warm, and comforting to anyone sitting within its reach.

A little lunar story, held in linen and light.
