This lamp is inspired by the hare’s place in European folklore as a creature of the in-between. Hares move through the world at dawn and dusk, those soft edges where day is becoming night and night is becoming day, and people once believed that made them threshold animals. They appear and vanish almost without sound, like a fleeting thought you can’t quite catch.

Because of this, the hare became a symbol of possibility, intuition, and the quiet moments of transformation. I painted this lamp in that spirit: a running hare held between warm light and shadow, a little reminder of the beauty found in the places where one thing shifts gently into another.
