This lamp is inspired by the raven as a guide through thresholds, the ancient belief that some beings can move between worlds more freely than we can. In folklore, ravens slip from light into shadow, from the known into the unknowable, carrying messages, witnessing transitions, and escorting souls across unseen borders. They are travelers of the liminal, able to rise above the landscape and navigate both the physical and the spiritual planes.
I painted the ravens here as silhouettes in motion, suspended against a quiet grid-like a map of the in-between, a place where direction isn’t linear but intuitive. Below them, the green mountains ground the piece, a reminder that even when we’re moving through uncertainty, there is still earth beneath us.
A small light for moments when you are crossing your own thresholds, guided by something just beyond sight.
