This lamp is inspired by the folklore of mountains as vast, ancient beings, places that remind us of our smallness in a way that feels grounding rather than diminishing. In so many stories, mountains hold the role of quiet guardians, watching over valleys and travelers with a kind of timeless patience. Standing before them, your worries soften; you feel yourself held inside something larger and steadier than your own thoughts.
I wanted this piece to carry that feeling, but with a playful twist. The hand-painted mountains anchor the bottom of the lamp with depth and shadow, while the bright florals above rise toward the light, echoing the way life always finds its way up through stone. When illuminated, everything blends into a warm, glowing landscape, humble, vibrant, and gently expansive.
It’s meant to feel like a moment of perspective: a reminder that you are small, yes, but also part of something vast and beautiful.
