The Art Update Week 8
Hello gorgeous readers. Welcome back to another week of The Art Update.
As I type out these words, just know I am sore down to the tips of my fingers from shoveling 24,000 lbs of landscape rocks with my friends yesterday. Although that might sound miserable, spending a day doing hard work with good friends is always a good time.
New Work
Aside from shoveling rock, this week I started a new canvas painting. She is small, but so far the detail gods have struck my creativity, so she will be busy and colorful. The inspiration for this piece is coming straight from the color palettes that flitted across my desk last week, specifically the oranges, maroons, and avocado greens. I'm excited to see this painting develop over the next few days and weeks.

The base is an easy pink, and the first layer I am adding is the flooring, a tiled masterpiece of visual chaos. The flooring will be toned down by the different elements layered over it, like the rug.

I did get the fabric for the rug dyed and began painting it today. After I add some more contrast and detail, the rug will be done and ready to apply to the canvas.
Markets
In other news, I am jumping back into something that felt old but now feels very new again: Art Market Season. I will be popping up at three art markets in downtown Bozeman this summer. Although I am excited, it feels like I am doing this for the first time... selling a new product and medium is daunting. Starting over means re-learning how to set up, order, and sell at a market.
I will have market dates and details sent out to all Montana email subscribers in the next few weeks!
