The Art Update Week 12

Welcome back to the Art Update!

A little bit of housekeeping before jumping into this week's update: I'll be gone next week, out of service and back on the river, so there won't be an update on June 25th. The following week I'm out of the studio again, so the Art Update will be a bit lighter than usual.

Last Friday kicked off the start of the summer art markets! I appreciate everyone who stopped by to say hi, browse a little, and even buy a print or two. For anyone who couldn't make it, don't worry! There are more markets this summer, and the online Print Shop is open!

For those of you in the Bozeman and Big Sky area, my next markets are Friday, July 10th in Downtown Bozeman, and Saturday, July 18th at the Big Sky Artisan Market.

Work in Progress

With summer ramping up, prepping for markets, traveling, and handling all the small details that come with selling a new product, my current paintings have been slow to finish. I was able to jump back into my little pink painting this week for a day or two, and that was wonderful.

When I cut out all my furniture pieces, I realized they were way too small for the room, the windows looked like they could swallow the couch! So I pivoted and made new furniture instead. It was a frustrating setback, but I do love painting couches, so it wasn't too bad.

After filling in more of the border and setting my pieces on the canvas, I realized we needed an insane lamp. After cutting out some sample pieces, I went for it. Here's what we're working with now: a groovy little space to read in.
